What an incredible, totally unexpected wine tasting hosted by Matija! He hails from Croatia and busy with his PhD in oenology at the US. The wines were fantastically unexpected and absolutely brilliant. Ten absolute gem’s of South African wines were showcased accompanied with a small plate of curated cheeses and fruit to compliment the wines! I used to be in the wine industry for 23 years and I can say without a single doubt that this has been one of the most rewarding tasting experiences weve ever had! Please do yourself a favor and book one of these!

Absolutely fantastic. Definitely recommend it for anyone - tourist or local! Matija was wonderful. Completely different to your ‘normal’ wine tasting - I would describe it as a wine journey. We tried the most exceptional wines paired with the most beautiful food from Bartinney combined with the backdrop overlooking the Stellenbosch mountains - it truly was an amazing experience.

I loved that it was interactive in the way that we didn't know which wine or varieties we were tasting, the guessing made it really fun. The atmosphere and views were amazing, as well as the cheese and biltong selection we received to pair with the wines.

One of the of the most memorable experience while visiting Stellenbosch! We occasionally found out about this masterclass while visiting the city center, drinking some wine and enjoying the atmosphere... and it really worthed it!! We got a chance to taste wines coming from different vineyards of Stellenbosch and to learn a lot of particular details about each of them from Matija!

I went to Stellenbosh with my family to experience the wines from the region and happened to get into this Icon Master Class wine testing session. Excellent concept where high end wines from different vineyards were presented, opposite to the experience of going to a specific vineyard and only trying their products. Matija has selected a very good range of wines showing what what this region is capable of producing. His in depth knowledge combined with his open and inviting personality made the experience just outstanding!
